Kramer Uniform Scholarship Fund
“Our communities are stronger when we stick together, share resources, celebrate one another, and invest in our young people.”
Dr. McMillan, Kramer Middle School Principal

“The students love the uniforms. They feel good in them, and you can see the difference in how they carry themselves. We want our students to see school as a place that prepares them for who they are becoming. That is the culture we are building at Kramer Middle School. Supporting the Uniform Scholarship Fund helps us make that vision real.” - Mr. Clavis, Restorative Justice Coordinator
Kramer Uniform Scholarship FundEducational Justice = Economic Mobility
In the morning, when our youth wake up, they are putting on clothes that prepare them for the day ahead and the life ahead of them. The new Kramer Middle School uniform serves as an early reminder that learning matters, opportunity is within reach, and their future is worth investing in.
Their Own Style | The Kramer Way
Usually, the system decides the colors and clothing styles that students, particularly students of color, are expected to wear. Kramer Middle School chose a different path. They cut the cloth and went their own way, recognizing that what students wear reflects something bigger: their future, their potential, and a fundamental belief that how they see themselves matters.
Why This New Style Matters?
“If you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good, you play good” - Deion Sanders
"I always want to look my best because you never know who you’re going to meet or what opportunities might come your way." - Rihanna
"You have to speak into existence what you want for yourself. And when that opportunity comes, you have to be ready." - Chadwick Boseman
“I love the ritual of getting ready. It’s a way of honoring yourself." - Traci Ellis Ross
"Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations." - Dr. Mae Jemison
"Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak." - Andre Leon Talley
Kramer Uniform Scholarship FundIn a time when our youth will see, feel, and experience economic uncertainty, injustice, and racial profiling in profound ways, it is our responsibility as a village to protect them.
We must protect them from:
Fear
Shame
Guilt
Insecurity
Prejudice
Assumptions
Instead, we surround them with love, belonging, dignity, and pride. We remind them that they are valued, seen, and worthy of every opportunity to thrive.
The Kramer Middle School Scholarship Fund is more than financial assistance. It is an intentional act of protection, affirmation, and community care. It creates opportunities for students to experience belonging, build confidence, and carry a sense of pride in who they are. At a time when our young people need love, encouragement, and stability most, this scholarship serves as a tangible expression of all three.
